An Atlas Project · read-only, no card
Connect Stripe and your books. In 60 seconds, see exactly where they don't tie out.
LedgerLock reconciles one prior month for free and shows you, side by side: the correct journal entries — fees split out of revenue, grouped by payout, refunds and FX handled — next to what your Zapier/Make template actually posted. Most founders find their books were already broken.
One deposit hit the bank. The template booked a pile of gross charge lines — none of them match it.

One grouped, fee-split entry that equals the single deposit — $4,182.55.

Balanced. Ties out.
Debits equal credits, and the entry equals the bank deposit. Example close.
Free templates log your payments. LedgerLock closes the books — fee-split · payout-grouped · refund-safe · multi-currency · never double-posts.
The problem
Your free template didn't reconcile your books. It just made them look reconciled.
Posts gross, not net
Stripe takes its fee before the money hits your bank. The template books the full charge as revenue and never splits the fee out.
Income overstated, expenses missing — every transaction.
Ignores payout grouping
Your bank sees one deposit; Stripe bundled forty charges, six refunds, and three fees into it.
Forty entries that never match the one bank line.
Double-posts refunds and disputes
A refund fires twice, or a dispute reverses a charge the template already booked.
The same money counted two ways.
Botches multi-currency
A EUR charge settling to a USD account creates a real FX gain or loss.
The template picks the wrong rate — or drops it entirely.
None of this throws an error. The books look full. Nobody notices until tax time — when your accountant opens QuickBooks, sees revenue that doesn't match your deposits, and sends back an invoice for the hours it takes to unwind a year of it.
How the Close Scan works
Three steps. The third is where it goes live.
- 01
Connect read-only
Authorize Stripe and QuickBooks Online or Xero in read-only mode. We never move money, never post anything, never get write access during the scan. Under a minute.
- 02
We reconcile one prior month, correctly
Fees split out of gross, entries grouped by payout so they match your bank deposits, refunds and disputes handled once, multi-currency normalized to FX gain/loss.
- 03
See the gap, then close it
A side-by-side: correct entries vs. what's in your books right now. One click posts the corrected close and turns on automatic closing for every future month.
What it does
A close engine, not another payment logger.
Fee-split, not gross
Net deposits and processor fees are booked as separate, correct lines — so your revenue is real revenue and your fees are a deductible expense, instead of one inflated number that ties out to nothing.
Grouped by payout — matches your bank
Your bank shows one deposit; Stripe bundled dozens of events into it. LedgerLock groups entries by payout so a single ledger line equals a single bank line. Reconciliation ties out on the first pass.
Refund- and dispute-safe
Refunds, partial refunds, chargebacks, and dispute reversals are handled exactly once, in the right direction. No phantom revenue, no double-counted reversal, no cleanup the week before filing.
Multi-currency, normalized
Charges in one currency settling to another create real FX gain or loss. LedgerLock applies the correct rate and posts the FX difference as its own line.
Audit-ready, and you approve every entry
Every close ships with a clean journal-entry pack your accountant can open and sign off. You review and approve before anything posts. LedgerLock produces correct entries; it does not file your taxes.
A dedupe ledger that never double-posts
This is the lock. LedgerLock keeps a persistent record of every entry it has ever posted for your account. Re-run a month, reconnect, retry a sync — it will never post the same payout twice. Free templates have no memory; that's why they double-book. This one can't.
In their words
Illustrative examples“The free scan told me my 'reconciled' QuickBooks was overstating revenue by about $4,100 a year — all unsplit Stripe fees. Subscribed before I closed the tab.”
“Payout grouping alone gave me my month-ends back — entries finally match the bank deposits instead of forty orphan lines I matched by hand.”
“We charge in three currencies. LedgerLock's the first thing that closed our books without me hand-fixing every euro charge in a spreadsheet.”

Frequently asked questions
Doesn't my Zapier / Make / n8n template already do this?
It logs payments; it doesn't close books. Templates post gross instead of net, book one entry per charge instead of grouping by payout (so nothing matches your bank deposit), double-post refunds, and drop FX. The free Close Scan shows you exactly where your template's entries diverge from correct ones, in your own books, for a real month. Most founders are surprised by the gap.
Is my Stripe and accounting data safe? What can LedgerLock actually touch?
The scan is read-only — it cannot move money, cannot post entries, cannot change anything. To go live, LedgerLock posts journal entries to QuickBooks/Xero with least-privilege access, and you approve every entry before it posts. We never get the ability to move funds in Stripe, ever. Connections are revocable from your Stripe and accounting dashboards at any time.
How is the price calculated — is this a cut of my money?
No. LedgerLock is a flat monthly subscription ($49 / $99 / $199), full stop. It is not a percentage of your revenue, your deposits, or anything we recover — we never touch your money, so we never take a slice of it. Your tier is set only by transaction volume and which features you need. You always know your bill before you owe it, and you can cancel from the Stripe portal anytime.
What if I don't trust the corrected entries — could it break my real books?
You stay in control. The scan is watermarked and read-only — it changes nothing. When you go live, every entry is queued for your approval before it posts, and the dedupe ledger guarantees the same payout is never booked twice even if you re-run, reconnect, or retry. LedgerLock produces audit-ready entries; you (or your accountant) sign off. We don't file taxes and don't give tax advice.
QuickBooks Online or Xero — which do you support?
Both. Solo connects one Stripe to one QuickBooks Online or Xero. Pro adds multi-currency FX and the audit pack. Firm runs up to 10 client books across either, with a client switcher.
I already have a bookkeeper / accountant. Does this replace them?
No — it makes their job faster and their invoice smaller. LedgerLock hands them books that already tie out, grouped by payout, with a clean audit pack and (on Firm) a white-label memo. They review and approve instead of unwinding a year of mis-posted Stripe data at tax time. Bookkeepers run it for their clients on the Firm plan.
See where your books don't tie out — free, in about a minute.
Connect Stripe and QuickBooks or Xero, read-only. If your books are clean, you'll know in 60 seconds. If they're not — and most aren't — one click closes them and keeps them closed.
